I was quite lucky and picked up a proof copy of The Asparagus Bunch at the FCBG conference in April. I was immediately intrigued by the blurb and the idea of this being written with such honesty and humour.
As someone who works in education, I am very aware of Asperger’s and the differences this can be in each person, so to read about Leon and his own unique experiences was certainly eye opening. It has definitely changed my mindset.
Reading about Leon, Tanya and Lawrence is enlightening and heart warming. It has poignant, happy and sad moments that draw the reader in to each character to learn and understand what their world feels like to them.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and would highly recommend to others in Year 6 and above!
