A charming and amusing debut story from Carrie Sellon.
Pete had a horrifying and terrifying panic attack on his 12th birthday and has been unable to leave home ever since and that was 25 days ago. His dad has been understanding, as has best friend Anna and her dog, Useless. However, when Dad brings home some bad news, Pete is worried. Being forced to move out of his home is something he cannot fathom and is unwilling to accept.
So Pete and Anna come up with some big ideas for the pizza shop! They head up to the attic to see if drones could be launched from the window and discover a hidden briefcase of potions along with a news article about a woman who was experimenting on herself with the potions.
Pete and Anna give them a try with some interesting outcomes…and then they explain to Pete’s dad. The next day, they open a magical pizza shop and customers are invited to choose from intelligence, shapeshifting or laughter along with others. It’s a successful day and they are close to reaching the amount the bank needs to keep them open when disaster strikes and the potions go wrong.
Will Pete and his Dad be able to stay in their home and shop?
With elements of fun and potion magical, similar to George’s Marvellous Medicine, this will have readers chuckling and craving pizza!
