The Destiny of Minou Moonshine Blog Tour

An extraordinary tale that has all the makings of a classic. It has a modern feel to it with airships and telegraphs but also the feel of a legend, set so long ago that it has become a story to be shared and revered.

I could not form my words into a review without giving away secrets and surprises so I have created a list of reasons why you must read this book!

Reasons to Read!

“A land that loses its stories loses its way”! This is one of the lines that captured my heart as I was reading. Minou has been brought up hearing stories about her world, the Queens of Moonlally and especially about The Dark Lady. All are interwoven into this story adding a sense of depth and myth.

Minou or Sparrow, as she adopts through her adventure, is a foundling, living with Dima who is like a grandmother to her. When she discovers that Dima is part of the Green Orchids, Minou is determined to become part of the same rebel movement. Her strength, size and determination make her the perfect fit for this group.

The book begins with a gunshot and is an exciting adventure throughout. From hiding in dark forests to traipsing up a mountain and riding a mechanical elephant, there is so much taking place as you read.

Set in an alternate colonial world, similar to India, Indica is a beautiful place. Lush rainforests and treetop temples but led by a tyrant who wants to dig mines, tax people and bring about hatred and fear. This rebel movement want to overthrow him and reinstate the rightful Queen. There are clashes between the groups!

Interwoven throughout the entire adventure is Minou’s quest to discover who she truly is. It is heartfelt, at times sad and at others, surprising! Her history is unknown but you can sense there is more to her than first thought.

I was kept enthralled by this story on my train journey and was upset when I reached my destination before I reached the end of my book but it did mean I could come back to see how the story unfolded. It is brilliant, legendary and adventurous.
