Ember is back from her thrilling and dangerous adventure on Mount Never. The fate cards are no more and everyone is free to make their own choices. This isn’t easy for some and there are plenty in the village who feel uncertain and uncomfortable with making their own decisions.
When Ember and little sister, Juniper explore some of the tunnels of Mount Never with clock hand bestie, Hans, they make a startling discovery. They find frayed threads, ones that belonged to people. Someone has cut their threads and killed the people. This brings us to the next adventure for Ember- another trip into Mount Never on a quest for the truth and the Lost Desert of time. She believes if she turns back time, she will catch the thread cutter.
Along for the journey is new friend, Falcon. He is hiding something from Ember but she is completely focused on traversing the lands and mountains of the world to find the lost desert. When she finally discovers the truth, it may be too late and the world’s memories will need to be erased.
Exciting, adventurous and magical, these stories really capture your imagination and heart. The relationships that Ember has are inspiring and lovely- she is truly kind hearted. We see more of Juniper in this story and see she has a special way with animals. She is also determined not to be left behind by Ember this time, proving herself to be very useful!
