It’s always lovely to return to a story, the familiar characters and setting that feels so real. Picking up a sequel is like meeting an old friend, one you have missed and can’t wait to catch up with.
Being back with Maggie Blue brings those emotions but also a sense of adventure, a waiting for something exciting. The cover image is wondrous and will entice readers in with its beauty!
While Maggie is being watched by an array of creatures, she is enjoying the summer of friendship. Finally feeling a sense of belonging and contentment, she loves these lazy days. Though she does feel a shift, perhaps a memory stirring or the knowledge of being watched.
At times, tumultuous, poor Maggie is dealing with a poorly mother, neglectful aunt and a darker force beckoning her forth into the dark world again. Will she go and is she able to compete with the dark forces at work there?
It would be remiss of me to forget to mention Hoagy, the wry one-eyed cat who is present with Maggie through it all. Thrills, adventure, a journey and figuring out who you are come together in this exciting sequel.
It’s rather hard not to give any spoilers but rest assured, this is as brilliant as book one!
