The series continues…and continues to be brilliant. I have loved every one of the five previous titles in this series and have learned plenty of fun facts to impress my friends and family.
In this volume, we are asked to “follow ye olde trail” of historical facts. There is plenty for readers to take in on their journey through time and culture, from the Egyptians to Victorians and from pillows to pirates, there are so many random facts.
I always loved Horrible Histories and this book reminds me of some of those skits. I always found the make up and beauty skits the most interesting and in this book, I found out some women would decorate their hair with fireflies and that others would stretch their ears as a symbol of nobility. Neither would necessarily work today for sure!
Imagine plucking your hairline to make your forehead appear larger! No thanks!
