I must admit that if I had this book when I was teaching the water cycle, it would have made life easier. Cotton Cloud loves watching the world go by beneath him, seeing the people admiring his shapes and style.
He loves his cloud friends and learns from them, all except Nimbostratus, the rain cloud. Cotton avoids him and doesn’t listen when he advises Cotton to send some rain.
Cotton wants to make people happy and believes that rain will make them sad so even as the land goes dry and people go thirsty, Cotton refuses to rain. It takes a harsh word for Cotton to think differently.
A lovely story about the cycle of rain, he absolute necessity of it and the harmony it provides. Young readers will thoroughly enjoy the story of Cotton and the understanding of how joyous a little rain can be!
