Celebrate by Laura Mucha

National Non Fiction November is an annual month-long celebration of non fiction titles for children. It is an initiative run by the Federation of Children’s Book Groups, a national charity whose aim is to bring children and books together.

In an effort to be more involved, I will share more non fiction reviews this month!

Books about festivals and celebrations are ideal ways to celebrate the wonderful events that take place around the world. This book is a thoroughly enjoyable adventure of food, culture and fun that spans the globe.

It must have taken a lot of time and research to learn more about some of these lesser known events, especially ones that seem so unexpected. The book is divided into continents for ease of travel and understanding of culture and community around the world.

While some festivals are world wide, others are very explicit in where and why they take place, but I loved learning about the special food, ceremony and style given to each different event. The vibrant and bold illustrations will allow readers the chance to feel part of the celebrations. They are wondrous and enchanting.

With 50 to choose from, what and where will you celebrate first?
