When the Stars come out by Nicola Edwards

National Non Fiction November is an annual month-long celebration of non fiction titles for children. It is an initiative run by the Federation of Children’s Book Groups, a national charity whose aim is to bring children and books together.

In an effort to get involved, I will share more non fiction reviews this month!

This is an incredible and comprehensive book and it will certainly leave you filled with facts and a deeper understanding of the hows and whys of darkness and nighttime.

From the science and history involving stars and the orbiting of Earth around the sun through to creatures that thrive at night, there is much to learn in this book.

The use of darkness on the pages with subdued colours offers a sense of relaxation while reading. I loved the details and wonder that the pages offered.

As you visit each habitat around the world, you can almost hear the sounds of the night, from animal noises to the sounds of nature slumbering. I enjoyed the vast range of detail and fact this book offered and it was clear from reading that much research had been done to ensure it was factual and offered something for everyone.
