A new series from acclaimed author and illustrator, Laura Ellen Anderson is something I have been waiting for since spotting an early sampler of Marnie Midnight.
Marnie is attending Minibeast Academy for the first time and she is super excited to attend the same school as her hero, Lunora Wingheart. Sadly Lunora is believed to have been gobbled by the Early Bird but Marnie is still a huge fan and believes she may still be alive.
When Marnie, and new friends Floyd and Star discover an old classroom dedicated to moon studies, Marnie becomes convinced that Lunora is reaching out to her via moon magic. She becomes determined to figure this mystery out, especially as she and her friends discover that grumpy Dr Atlas, their teacher, has plans to destroy the moon.
A delightful new set of characters, a new world and a lovely heroine from Laura Ellen Anderson. Marnie is brilliant, fun but determined and very loyal and brave. I love her enthusiasm for everything. Her new friends, Floyd and Star are awesome. Floyd identifies as an A and sometimes a bee. Star is a vengeful ant princess but she has a heart of gold.
