Let me introduce you to Pinch Perkins from Tricky Dragon Lane in London. She is a young would be witch who lives with her parents. Her dad has the magic touch with plants and her mum, with words.
However, her mum has recently been cursed with the Sleeping Beauty curse. She lies asleep but alive,safe in their home. Seven souls have been stolen and Pinch is frustrated at the lack of answers or healing. She tries investigating those around her but knows the answer lies outside of her safe bubble.
She puts a dangerous plan in motion to find a way to save her Mum. It will take her and neighbour, Henry, on a mission out of their magical part of London and into the real world. The strangest of friends, they must navigate their new friendship along with new situations and people.
They will meet fairies, giant clay figures and securachauns. They will run for their lives, negotiate for information and Pinch will finally feel the stirrings of her magic.
This fantastic adventure has magic, family and self discovery at its heart! I was hooked from the start and with plenty of twists, it will keep the reader guessing as the story comes to a close.
Pinch and Henry both love roller skating and have very unique styles! They are both strong personalities and leap off the page.
