This is the second book in the Tourmaline series, full adventure and magical happenings.
In book one, Tourmaline, Mai and George, leave their university home and travel to the Island of Elsewhere to save Tourmaline’s mother, Persephone.
It is here that Tourmaline falls into the source of all magic and becomes embued with magic herself. As we return to the university several weeks later, Tourmaline still has no control or understanding of her magic. She has kept it all a secret from her mother.
When the opportunity to learn more presents itself, Tourmalime and her friends jump at the chance and head off on an airship with Persephone to the dark market. When magic causes problems, the trio of children are quickly captured as Tourmaline is now a precious commodity and is being hunted by many for her powers.
With plenty of twists, turns and the return of some dangerous faces, Tourmaline will need to face new and unimaginable situations- ones that make her cross, uncertain and protective! Tourmaline is impetuous and determined but she is beginnning to learn from Mai and George about how she should react and to think about her actions. They are her constants and she has really come to value and appreciate what they offer.
When she meets Celandine, a young girl in the dark market, there is an instant distrust and though she tries to hide it, Tourmaline is at times jealous and in awe of Celandine. Can they find a way to trust and like each other?
I cannot wait for Tourmaline’s next adventure as there is a library of everywhere promised!
