Gracie Fairshaw and the Missing Reel by Susan Brownrigg

I love these seaside mysteries featuring Gracie Fairshaw. She is such a lovely and charming character, who, all of a sudden, seems a very grown up figure. She has shown her dedication, loyalty and intelligence throughout each book but now at 14, she has a job, and a suitor.

Gracie is given the chance to interview a famous actress for The Gazette and though nervous, she would never pass up the opportunity. Meeting Sally Sunshine, Gracie finds her charming and sweet. Within a short space of time, Gracie realises there is a mystery to solve and she gets down to clue hunting with gusto.

Enlisting Tom and Violet, the trio don their best clothes and head for a fancy restaurant where a suspicious event is meant to happen. Gracie finds herself at the centre of this mystery and her intelligence and quick understanding help her to suss it all out.

This is a brilliant series for super-sleuths with just the right amount of danger and intrigue!
