Anna’s Garden by Sarah Hewitt

Even before you open the cover, there is an immediate feeling of calm through the illustrations. Anna is tending to pots of seeds and is taking great care with them.

As she meets characters throughout the story, they offer to play games or have fun but Anna isn’t interested. She does give them presents and then guides them to find each other and to return to her garden.

The double page spreads of Anna’s garden are awe-inspiring and filled with details. Readers will enjoy the rhythmic writing and enjoyable pace of the story and it would be a lovely bedtime story for the entire family.

There is a sense of whimsy in the book but a love of nature surrounds the reader!
