Into the Witchwood by Méabh McDonnell

This is an exciting, magical adventure featuring all the qualities of a perfect story! Rowan believes her mother is lost in the Witchwood, a dark and foreboding forest near her house.

Being a witch and on her 13th birthday, she is filled with hope that she will find her mother and solve the families problems. However, she doesn’t expect her sister and neighbour to follow her into the woods, adding to the danger. She also doesn’t realise she has been tricked by the witch in the woods.

Here is where the true adventure begins and the trio must put all their knowledge of rules to the test. They will face tough challenges and be in constant danger but Rowan is a determined and hopeful character. She does need to learn to be patient though but this is mostly due to her struggle to accept the loss of her mother.

Can they escape the clutches of the witch and the woods? Will Rowan and her family find her mother?

I thoroughly the enjoyed Into the Witchwood and anyone with a keen interest in folktales, fairytales and a chilling, thrilling adventure will find themselves at home here!
