This is a heartfelt and honest story, one that will certainly stop you in your tracks and make you think and feel strongly about actions and words in the book.
Billy strives to be and feel normal in a class that make him feel the opposite on a daily basis. Words can hurt and have great impact on those hearing them and internalising them. Thoughtless remarks and treating people differently can also severely impact. It was hard reading at times but I took Billy to heart and wanted him to speak up and speak out!
I loved the raw honesty throughout this story and the development of Billy as a character.
A thoughtful and thought-provoking book- one that has empathy written all over it. I challenge anyone to read it and not feel…deeply!
