Sunday Fun Day is a brilliant book written by Katherine Halligan and illustrated by Jesús Verona. Nosy Crow have collaborated with the National Trust on this book. I must admit, I love the collaborations and books that comes from Nosy Crow!

Today I am sharing a brilliant activity and inspiring book for families. Sunday Fun Day is chock full of brilliant nature based, free and easy to do activities for families with children of all ages. Absolutely guaranteed to inspire children to create wonderful items from nature and delicious treats in the kitchen.
There is an activity for every weekend of the year through each season so the book will well loved and read by the time Christmas comes around. Each beautifully illustrated double page spread will tell you what ingredients or items you will need and how to complete the activities.
For this weekend, with a bit of a storm blowing through, I thought I would have a go at helping out the feathered friends in my garden. All of the items are easy to find around the house or garden and a quick stop at the store for bird seed and I am ready to go. Easy to make and a bit messy but definitely good fun.

Such a wonderful book for families but actually this could add so much to a school curriculum as well. One activity each week that encourages nature based creating and discovering more about the world around them.

With gifting season upon us, I can imagine a box filled with paints, paper, ribbons, glue and a few other bits and bobs so a family can get stuck in straight away.
