Melanda Notwitch loves with her three gruesome aunts- one who eats stationery, one with barnacles on her left side and the third who barely knows her. They are hideous, cruel and all she has in this world! Though she has managed to keep a stuffed toy in which is hidden a photo of Melanda with her parents.
Melanda loves to write stories and use her imagination while her Aunt Claggy likes to eat them. It is after one eventful day, that Melanda decides to change her life. Earlier in the day, a young witch knocked on the door inviting Melanda to “Join the Witches”. When her cat sneaks in and speaks to Melanda that night, she feels she may be able to finally make a friend, make a change and find happiness.
Mitch, the witch, and Rolo, the cat, welcome Melanda to their group and find a spell that will get rid of the horrible aunts but they are missing a key ingredient- a mermaid’s scale. To get the scale, they need to find the Hairy Skulls Biker Gang first.
They will endure a dangerous mountain trek, meet a rock monster and have to convince a mermaid to give a scale. However, none of this is easy but Melanda is prepared with her incredible stories, voice and imagination.
A truly lovely story with humour and heart! I can’t wait for more adventures with Melanda, Mitch, Rolo and the Hairy Skulls!
