This is a smartly designed book that will prove how similar humans and animals can be. Each double page spread shares information about how we all need oxygen, to move around and communicate, along with plenty of others similarities. It takes into account the diversity of the animal kingdom as well so our senses may be compared to a snake while our aging is compared to orcas and butterflies.
I thought this was a clever way to prove the similarities and introduce them to young readers. There are vast amounts of animals featured across the book from birds, bugs and ticks to larger creatures as well. Brilliant concept and fantastic illustrations.
I loved the use of full colour illustrations across the entire book, it really made the comparisons easy to understand and visualise. I think the short bursts of text will make this really accessible for readers of all ages.
Another What On Earth success!
