Dracula & Daughters by Emma Carroll

Emma Carroll is truly one of the most gifted writers. She has this way of welcoming the reader into the world she has created, where the characters feel like old friends. Her descriptions really bring them to life.

Meeting Mina, Buffy and Bella is a fantastically intriguing adventure. When Mina and Buffy meet, it is in a graveyard on the wrong side of the river. One is there is steal a corpse that the other has just buried. Banding together to save themselves from the Night Watchmen, they discover much more in the coming days.

A friendship is forged until the truth of the corpse is revealed- a vampire is on the loose and feeding! The first victim is Varney, Mina’s best friend. She, Buffy and Bella must try to save him before he is killed by a hawthorn dagger.

The friendship between the girls is one that feels right, their individual skills heightened by the truth that they are family. They are stronger together and they will need to be to save and heal those affected by the vampire as well as the source vampire herself.

It’s such a bold adventure, one where girls really shine and their flame red hair has them standing out in a crowd. They are determined, tough and loyal! I loved every inch of this book and it may be my favourite Emma Carroll story yet.
