A Stocking Full of Spies by Robin Stevens

When this book arrived, I may have squeaked in excitement. A new Robin Stevens is something to squeak about after all. Back with familiar detective friends and their very familiar older counterparts.

May, Nuala and Eric are back as the main stars in this epic murder mystery but they are certainly there on a special mission set by Daisy and Hazel! May and Nuala have been pulled out of Deepdean and a mysterious note lets them know to head to Bletchley Park. Such an iconic setting for a mystery and the girls, along with Eric, fit in perfectly as messengers between the huts.

They need to spy and discover the truth behind one murder…and then two murders! Are they linked, two murderers, or one- and why is one man being blamed for both! So many challenges face this trio and they will need to work extra hard this time to find the truth.

Such cleverly written and well thought out mysteries- she really is the queen of this genre for younger readers. I didn’t guess it straight away and I love that I am kept guessing throughout! It makes it so much more fun and engaging.

A brilliant Christmas mystery, or one for late July when you can’t possibly be expected to wait!
