Joseph, Funmi, Isaac and Flo, all best friends, have recovered from their epic adventure as first time explorers and have no idea their lives are about to change again! As they explore the new sweet shop in the theme park, they discover an SOS note tucked into a sweet wrapper.
Joe and the crew begin researching the Midnight forest and any links to the new sweet shop with the same name. Discovering the owner Melissa Midnight and her connections leads the foursome to explore and find the truth.
However, their plans go out the window when they find themselves trapped on a truck heading across the ocean to the Midnight forest. Having only left a short note for their families, they are on their own. In books, you should never underestimate children and these four are intrepid, determined and clever.
They figure out ways to feed themselves, get themselves safely across dangerous bridges and rescue hypnotised workers in the sweet factory, all while continuing to destroy the sweets at the cause of all the problems.
It’s so great to be back with this group of explorers and to see them grow in confidence, trust and respect for each other. These stories have heart and humour and heroes!
