Beth is Dead by Katie Bernet

This is an incredible contemporary and mysterious reimagining of Little Women. Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy are back but this time, their father has made them famous through his book, Little Women!

It has turned their life upside down and made them into the most loved (and hated) sisters in their world. It has caused them to doubt themselves, question themselves and feel the need to prove their worth, especially Beth who does at the end! Both in the actual novel and in the one written by her father.

The relationships between the sisters are so close to the original and readers will appreciate this in the modern setting. What has changed is the fact that there is a murder and the sisters each are called into question! They also bring clues to who the actual murderer might be!

Each chapter is told by one sister, either now or then (the night of the murder or in the time leading up to it). It is such a great way to see the perspectives of each sister and what they are hiding from each other.

I absolutely loved this book and having read and loved the original, I feel like this is a great reimagining and will hopefully bring new readers to Little Women!
