Murder at the Ivy Hotel by Emily Hourican

This is everything a mystery should be- filled with suspense, suspects and curious children leading the way.

Meeting Meredith and Macy in their apartment in the Ivy Hotel, you begin to get a feel for the awe and wonder these girls feel living in such a splendid building. They treat the Ivy with the utmost respect and know all the secrets and staff.

The girls live with her mother who is the general manager but lately she has been more stressed than normal. This is due to the new owners who have strong feelings about efficiency. When a mystery guest ends up dead in one of the rooms, it strikes fear into the hearts of the staff and other guests. Could this be a natural death or is it murder?

Macy, Meredith and new friend Colin, put their heads together to discover the truth behind the mystery man and some of the strange things happening around the hotel. When a close friend is arrested, they know they must find the real culprit. As they work together, their list of “known” things becomes longer and more clear.

It’s a charming location for a mystery and I love the cast of characters who welcome the girls into their wider family. A true cosy crime for super sleuths of all ages!
