The Subject Society by Sarah Surgey

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for The Subject Society, The Pythagorus Puzzle by Sarah Surgey!

This is a small book filled with big ideas! At forty pages in length, this is a perfect size book for younger readers. In this first book in the series, we meet Mabel, who is seven and wants to be a doctor. Mostly so she can solve the problem of her two annoying big brothers!

She and her friends begin a new club, called The Subject Society and use their brains, imagination and books to solve problems. Their first problem is that Théo’s violin playing is out of pitch and his exam is the following week.

Mabel introduces the Subject Society to Pythagorus and his “circle of 5ths” in the hopes it will help her friend.

This is a brilliant start to a new series featuring a diverse cast of characters who will use STEM and the arts to help them solve issues they face.
