I had no expectations on this book when I first started it, other than being a fan of Lisa Williamson’s writing. This book packs a punch and doesn’t shy away from dark subjects and sensitive topics.
Saying that, I was entirely engrossed and ended up reading this in one sitting. it is days before the group begin their GCSE exams and a house party is the perfect excuse to let loose before revision and exams take over. Of course, too much alcohol makes for some lost memories and huge hangovers but there is more to this night than initially meets the eye.
It’s so hard to share a review without a spoiler but this is a vital book for those teens hitting 15, 16 and 17- when house parties, hormones and alcohol mix for serious consequences.
With friendship, family and finding support key themes, there is so much to take away from reading this. I can’t help but wonder what happens next to these characters….I felt everything with them and was so invested!
