Lily Tripp, Diary of an Accidental Time Traveller by Amelia Tait

Funny, heartwarming and filled with snippets of cool history!

Every New Years Eve , Lily counts down and wakes up in a new time! It all started in 2021 when she travelled to 1842, where she lived for a whole year, then it was 122, 1922 and finally 2025! Not knowing where she’ll end up next is often on her mind.

What she doesn’t expect is to spend time in two different time periods- 1621 and 1972. In both, she is labelled wrongly and spends much of her time alone and trying to navigate school, life and bullies!

In one respect, the good thing is that whenever Lily ends up, she takes her family and friends with her- even the bully! So Lily remembers past, present and future but everyone else firmly believes they are of the time they are living. It’s tricky and weird but Lily handles it well.

It’s such a unique story and one that I was keen to continue reading! I am desperate to know what else happens and when Lily lives next- I would happily read this as a series! What a cool way to teach history, events and family life through the ages!
