I have always been a voracious reader, inheriting my love of books from my grandmothers and parents. Weekly trips to the library were much anticipated along with regular opportunities to buy books. When I became a teacher, I was constantly buying children’s books, not realising just what path my career would take.
From teaching in Canada, Hong Kong, Dubai and England, to becoming a primary school librarian- my career has always involved children’s literature. Now I have the wonderful job title of Children’s Librarian for Suffolk Libraries.
