This delightful book is full of enchanting stories from some of the best voices in children’s publishing, all illustrated by Sarah McIntyre. This clever blog tour asks each author a bit about their story and their favourite childhood story. I am so grateful to be a part of this along with Michael Mann!

Tell us about your story
My story, Bob & Pop, is a story about a boy with a brilliant imagination whose shadow comes to life. He and his shadow go on amazing adventures – they stop a cat burglar, sail a shadow pirate ship – but Bob worries what people will say so he keeps his shadow a secret. Then one day it disappears… and it is up to Bob to get it back.
What was your favourite bedtime story as a child?
The Jolly Postman by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. I used to absolutely love anything by Janet and Allan Ahlberg – Funny Bones, Burglar Bill, Each Peach Pear Plum – but I think my favourite was ‘The Jolly Postman’. I just loved the idea that Cinderella, the Wicked Witch and The Three Bears might all be writing to each other, and the tiny letters and envelopes themselves were just delightful. We moved house quite a bit when I was young and I became a prolific letter writer myself, and I can’t help wonder if the Jolly Postman might be responsible! (Runner up – Avocado Baby by John Burningham)
Thank you to Faber and Michael for inviting me to be a part of this blog tour. The Faber Book of Bedtime Stories is the perfect gift this Festive season!
