Norah’s Ark by Victoria Williamson

Check out the other stops on this massive blog tour!

This story will tug at your heartstrings as you meet Norah and Adam and watch their friendship blossom over a shared love of animals and a need for love and care.

Norah lives a tough life with her Dad and they struggle to make ends meet, have healthy meals and clean clothes. For this, Norah is horrifically bullied. Her learning difficulties add to the fuel for the bullies.

Adam lives the opposite life. He is wealthy and has all he could ever need but he is not allowed to attend school or meet people due to his parents overprotective nature since he had leukaemia.

The pair are brought together by a nest of baby birds, whose parents have been killed by the neighbourhood cat. Without Norah and Adam, these birds will have met a similar fate. As they add more animals and truly find the rhythm of their friendship, you realise the beauty of this book.

Both children have exceptional needs and a desire to be loved and protected, which is exactly what they give to the animals they rescue- love, hope and safety.

Beautifully written and one that will make you take a bit more notice of the world around you!
