When The Agency for Scandal was first announced, I had a sixth sense that it would be exactly the type of book that I would adore. I was not wrong- check out my review here – https://myshelvesarefull.com/2022/10/30/the-agency-for-scandal-by-laura-wood/
When A Season for Scandal and most recently, A Game of Scandal were published, I was over the moon. I cannot do these books the justice they deserve in a review so I have decided to share my reasons to encourage you to read these books!
- Female power! The Aviary is an all female agency there to protect women in society from the men who cause them harm and discomfort.
- Each woman working for The Aviary has a special talent or set of skills that most men wouldn’t believe, making them the ideal spies in the service.
- Each lead woman in the story is not looking for love or trouble but to ensure their own happiness and to forge their way in the world they live in.
- In A Game of Scandal, Felicity is determined to be educated as a mathematician regardless of what society deems to be proper for her.
- She is the sister to one of the lead characters from The Agency for Scandal, Max!
- Felicity refuses to get married and is going against society’s rules.
- She is super smart and wins a lot of money at a gambling den, beating several important and wealthy men.
- She meets Ash, the handsome owner and finds herself intrigued, despite her anti-marriage views.
- She meets her match in Ash and they must each keep important secrets to protect the other
- The series is promised to be a cross between Bridgerton and Enola Holmes- regency romance meets spies!
