With familiar characters and places, this adventure features Maggie, an orphan with links to Passpartout- in the form of her passed mother.
Escaping from the workhouse, Maggie is desperate to find him and deliver a letter from her mother. She unfortunately encounters Inspector Fix first but when she meets passpartout, she has mere moments before Fogg comes home and announces their intrepid and unexpected journey.
Maggie joins the team as “les deux valises” for Fogg and he can’t help but accept with time ticking and Scotland Yard on his trail.
The journey is familiar to readers of the classic, and there are inevitable delays and trouble but another traveller, Valentine, is there to help once they reach India. Her help and knowledge prove invaluable as they continue through to Hong Kong, USA and then back to London.
The four make an incredible journey with plenty of action and adventure. They meet amazing people and discover so much about themselves, Maggie and Passpartout especially! The characters are rich, relatable and remarkably intertwined along this incredible tour of the world.
Perhaps the ending of this is the beginning of a new series!
