Exit Stage Death by Ava Eldred

This book, like a piece of musical theatre, builds in character, plot and twists until it reaches its crescendo and everything falls into place.

Camp chance is a musical theatre camp, where Livi has been coming for years. As a senior, she is hoping for the lead role in the end of camp showcase but this summer will throw up some surprises for Livi and her friends.

Firstly, the celebrities at camp this year are likely to take centre stage and Livi is not thrilled though she does form friendships with them. Camp Chance is Livi’s heart, it’s where she feels most like herself and this summer, she feels threatened.

When a girl is found dead at the camp, another plot develops as Livi, Juliet, Aaron, Sam and Daisy are thrust together. Murder, kidnapping, cryptic notes, will all keep Livi and her friends on their toes as they hunt for clues and the culprit, before something else hideous happens but who’s behind this piece of theatre?

Thoroughly engaging and compelling, this is an incredible story- I raced through it, assuming one suspect or another before the curtains were up and the culprit revealed!

A fantastic summer read!
