Autumn is my absolute favourite season and it’s made all the better by books with a cosy, autumnal vibe! Whether adventurous, romantic or magical, each of my top six for October are worth checking out!
Aside from tempting you to buy or borrow these books, I apologise for the darkness of the photos! My camera is definitely not working!

The Future Agency is at risk and Felix has passed his test to become a sky rider! It has magic, adventure and a phenomenal cast of characters. Could there be a double agent? Is Felix in danger or will he be recruited? Some books are worth waiting for and this is one of them.

A Scrap of Moss and Magick by Helen Parry, cover by Melissa Castrillon, published by DFB
I am really looking forward to finishing this brilliant book as the launch party is actually being hosted by an Indie bookstore in my town! It will be lovely to meet Helen and hear more about her book. In her debut, we meet Thirza, a young girl forced to make an impossible decision- her own life or that of her best friend! There is ample magic, secrets and adventure- perfect for an evening in!
Goodnight Silver by Abi Elphinstone, Illustrated by Olivia Lomenech Gill, published by Simon & Schuster
Abi is widely known for her heart warming characters and adventures that mix magic with fantasy! Emmy gets separated from her family and finds a lost leopard cub. Together they must find Whisperfell, a magical place for wild animals. Their journey will not be easy and Emmy must suspend her own beliefs and try to believe in the impossible! I know this is a special book and I am so grateful to have an early read!
Girl with a Sabretooth Tiger by Jasbinder Bilan, Illustrated by Sonia Albert, published by Chicken House
This shorter fiction title is sure to inspire younger readers! Set in pre-historic England, we head back in time to meet Swallow, as she heads out on a perilous journey to save her sister. With magic and the spirit of a sabretooth tiger guiding her, will Swallow be able to find the cure in time? It won’t be easy and she certainly will face danger but she is a formidable and wonderful character!
