Happy World Book Day!

Today is the big day! Whether you are dressing up, bringing along some book bling or a book in a jar- have fun! Enjoy celebrating reading, books, authors and illustrators.

I am highlighting the WBD books on my blog and must admit it took longer than usual to find them all…..still missing Alex Rider from my collection! It was sold out from a few places I checked so definitely a popular choice this year.

The Day We Met the Queen by Onjali Q. Raúf, Illustrated by Pippa Curnick. Welcome back to the world featuring the world’s most famous refugee. After their adventures in London trying to save Ahmet, the gang are back. This time they have been invited to meet the Queen. However, not all are happy and proud of them…Brendan the Bully is set to cause trouble. It was so wonderful to read this short story, especially after such acclaim for The Boy at the Back of the Class.

Amelia Fang and the Bookworm Gang by Laura Ellen Anderson. How we adore Amelia Fang in our house. We have read the full collection and are so pleased to see Amelia as a WBD book. When bookworms threaten to eat everything in the library, it is up to Amelia Fang and her friends to save the books! Familiar faces and new characters grace the pages of this fun story!

My Awesome Guide to Getting Good at Stuff by Matthew Syed. with the success of You are Awesome and its journal, this is a perfect WBD book. Building confidence, self esteem and resilience in students is key for their future success. These books help out and dispels some myths about talents and abilities! Easy to read and with a cool layout, this is sure to be incredibly popular.

12 amazing titles from some of the best in the business! A stellar world book day line up this year!

Happy Reading All!
