I feel a bit perplexed….how do I tell you just how formidable and brilliant this book and the entire trilogy are without giving any spoilers?
What I can do is give you so many reasons to start this trilogy now!
- Aurelia Wycherley is an absolutely incredible character- bold, daring, loyal and loving. She has powerful magic thanks to a curse from her ancestors but she uses it all for good. She leads and others follow for her strength!
- Jules Nightly is her tether and while they clearly adore each other, their pairing is central to the storyline. An enemies to lovers style story surrounds them! Her magic makes them both stronger until she realises the truth about their tether!
- There is malevolence in their world and they are on the cusp of a 4th age of magic, where war, and massive change are coming. Not all witches will follow the path of good- so there are plenty of curses, charms and fighting.
- Ankoth, Aurelia’s broom is an entire character with a huge personality! He is quite bossy and loves to be involved!
- The plot always thickens and is so well planned out and heart pounding! I actually cried out “What! no!”, at several points in reading each book- then to turn the page to either more challenges or heartwarming solutions! You can never be sure!
If that isn’t enough to convince you then consider fancy balls, incredible magic, divine costumes, passion and the most amazing cast of characters surrounding Aurelia and Jules!
I cannot rave about this book and the entire trilogy enough. I feel like I will need a re-read very soon!
