What an incredible book to read and learn from, all about a career I have little understanding of. This will serve as a brilliant introduction to engineering in its many facets.
I have been dipping in and out of this book, flipping from biomedical engineering to robotics and communications. I had no idea just how vast a career or how broad a title, engineer, was.

Dr Shini Somara explains in her introduction about her natural curiosity as a child and how this was nurtured by her engineer father. In a nutshell, this is exactly why we need more books like this one, to inspire and nurture a reader to delve into learning and ignite their curiosity.
The engineers featured are all working hard to find new solutions, materials and to offer help to people in new ways. While I didn’t always understand their jobs, it was clear they all have visions and plans to make the world a better place.
The illustrations throughout the book are a mixture of photographs and diagrams and they are perfectly placed to highlight the roles and projects of each engineer. Colourful blocking draws the eyes to the career highlights of each person, which is a quick read and super way to see their accomplishments.
Thank you to What on Earth Books for my copy, it will be well read and enjoyed.
